Mtunzini has 40 km of unspoilt beach, the uMlalazi river lagoon is ideal for boating, canoeing, sking, fishing, indigenous forests, great hiking and biking trails. The Raphia Palm Monument is home to the very rare Palm Nut Vulture, and the area is a bird watchers paradise. Unspoilt mangrove forests can be explored, indigenous plants and trees abound, bushbuck, duiker, zebra, and other wild life are plentiful and the adjoining Nature reserve, uMlalazi Nature Reserve ensures that the beach and river will not be spoilt.
The Village has the usual Supermarket, Country club with Golf, Squash, and Tennis, there is a Bowling Club, great restaurants, resident Doctor, IT service, and a filling station.
